This really depends on the distance from the fort the ships orbit, however, as if it’s a decent distance, players are still going to struggle with those shots. So, this obviously scales with the number of players in your crew, but, is a good point. It seems like matches would take FOREVER cuz the only way to stop the attacker is to leave yor ship alone with holes in it. It wouldn’t conflict with any world events, and they’re designed to be defended/fought over. ![]() Well, there are six on each server, so there would be plenty of options for matchmaking without stepping on toes. I don’t think so, many here seem to believe combat isn’t a relevant part of SoT, as such, if combat is not relevant outside of HG, HG must be modified to accommodate varies forms of PVP. This kinda goes against the core of HG but I’ll hear it out. Ships dive below the waves, same as before, but when they come up out of the water, the banner reads something like “Fortress Fight” and combat ensues as described in my initial comment. Plus, would this happen at the existing sea fort, spawn new ones in, or what? how would matchmaking work? So, initially I was hoping to design something where the defender chooses and holds a fort over multiple enemy incursions, but it didn’t work out… It’s limited in its arena, but I think maintains the spirit of HG encompassing PVP in the sandboxĪnd it eliminates the advantage the defender has by choosing where the fight takes place. problem is, it is not open and unpredictable like HG is supposed to be, I think having the option to start your HG and immediately opt into a battle involving at least 4 other ships that are actually wanting to fight would be exciting, rewarding, and personally it would be the only way I play said in What do you think could be done to refresh i know and have read the thread. It feels grindy not because of the slow allegiance gain, nor the poorly spaced rewards, but it feels grindy because most fights are bland and forgettable because they are very similar to most others. So many fights have been indistinguishable from the next. ![]() Mechanically it would work the same as normal invasions, the only differences would be multiple ships in the battle, all fighting to sink the others, as well as no restrictions on crew or ship size, so any crews and ships can be matched. The final ship would earn a streak of 4 to 5 by surviving to the end, becoming a champion, and even sinking a champion if it was a full 6 ship match. A new server starts up and all 5 to 6 crews invade into a battle against each other, merging out as they sink. Second, I think, instead of matching you against a larger ship, it should match you against 4 to 5 other ships. The mechanic that is unappealing, unrewarding, and underutilized.įirst, it should no longer require a streak of 4 on a sloop or brig before it can even be used, it should be avaliable to all hourglass crews. I think they should change the champion battle system. ![]()
